Wales Weekend

After two weeks in India I headed down to visit Dan in Wales. On the way down we called in at Slimbridge where I was finally able to see Bewick's Swan, my biggest tart. There were a few on the Rushy Pen, and then a few more in the fields adjacent to the reserve. In addition to the Swans there were a few Pintail and Pochard, as well as more common Wildfowl.

Whilst I was stopping at Dan's we went to go have a look at the female Long-tailed Duck that had set up on Sandy Water Park some ten minutes drive away. On our first visit it was nearly dark and the bird was fairly distant, however it showed incredibly well the next morning, swimming not very far off shore.
