Long Point; The Tip

Northerly winds throughout the day meant that it was fairly slow. Only a few of the nets could be opened and only a few birds were caught, with nothing too exciting. Tragically this was also the only day in Canada with no new species for us. It was just as well that in the afternoon we were the ones cooking dinner, as we did not miss anything. There’s not much else to say about today really. It was still a pleasant days birding but there was nothing too exciting or different.

Ringing: Cedar Waxwing, Tree Swallow, Blue Jay,

Highlights

Cerulean Warbler - Yesterdays male Cerulean Warbler was still around, only today I was able to see and photograph the bird much better than the previous day, especially helped as the light was much better.

Little Brown Bat - Rather surprisingly there was Bat roosting in the outside toilet. Fortunately that toilet was not used too much so it generally got a pretty good rest but was still pretty cool to see.
